BC SAF HAVN Program
BC Services and Assistance for Humanitarian and Vulnerable Newcomers (BC SAF HAVN) Program provides specialized wrap-around support services to refugee claimants in all aspects of their initial needs, including access to food and housing, community orientation, navigating immigration and legal process, authorization to work, and mental health support.
Limited services are also provided to other vulnerable newcomers including asylum seekers, CUAET via holders, refugees and specific humanitarian pathway, to address their specific needs.
All services are funded by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and are free of charge.

Settlement and Immigration Information
Support, information and referrals related to housing, healthcare, banking, Canada’s immigration system, authorization to work, government and community resources, and more.
Assistance to Navigate Refugee Claim or Appeal Process
Community Connections
It includes informal English learning and various activities that promote social integration and well-being.
Non-clinical Counselling
Individual short-term non-clinical counselling services, supported referrals to professional/clinical counselling.
Psycho-Social Trauma Counselling
Short-term clinical counseling for trauma, psychosocial support, and other forms of crisis.
Employment Advice & Training
We provide information about the local labour market, connections to job opportunities, mentorships and training programs.
