Access to housing is a key pillar of the work we do here at Chimo. Having a safe, stable shelter devoid of any violence is a basic human right- and we aim to help those deprived of this right through providing transitional housing, rent supplements and outreach.
Our housing services consist of:
Nova Transition House
Nova House offers safe, temporary shelter for women and their children who are escaping violence. Its facilities act as a place of refuge, and give women the time and space to heal, consider their options, and make important life decisions.
Second Stage Housing
The Second Stage Housing service provides affordable short-term housing for women who have experienced abuse and require practical assistance. While residing in the safe living environment of Second Stage, the focus will be to help clients stabilize their lives,
Homeless Prevention Program
The Homeless Prevention Program (HPP) provides individuals in identified at-risk groups facing homelessness with rent supplements and support services to help them access rental housing in the private (non-subsidized) housing market.
