Community Engagement
Through a range of educational programs and workshops, our Community Engagement program aims to empower youth with the skills and resources to be able to help themselves and others in a potential crisis or difficult situation.
The Community Engagement program is delivered through two streams:
Peace of Mind: Workshops for Secondary Students
Peace of Mind workshops build awareness of social, emotional, and mental health issues that are becoming increasingly prevalent in the lives of young people today.
The workshops aim to give practical considerations pertaining to overall wellness, as well as tips for reaching out and finding support when presented with life’s challenges. Workshops are delivered in high school classrooms by professionally trained volunteers.
Each workshop focuses on a key topic and is targeted to a particular age group.
Stepping Out Program: Workshops for Elementary Students
Organized in partnership with selected high schools, Stepping Out offers a unique training opportunity for Grade 11 and 12 students to deliver workshops to Grade 6 and 7 students.
Secondary students undergo intensive training to gain experience in public speaking and presentation skills before interacting with their younger peers.
