BC Rent Bank
The BC Rent Bank believes individuals and families in British Columbia deserve a home that is safe, secure, and stable. The rent banks fill a critical gap by providing services to low-to-medium-income renters through a one-time crisis intervention loan for residents of Richmond, Ladner, Tsawwassen.
The Rent Bank aims to provide individuals and families with loans to prevent homelessness due to a one- time unexpected circumstance. Our loans can be used for rental or utility arrears, a damage deposit and or, first month’s rent.
The rent bank offers interest–free repayable loans as well as access to relevant support services and grants such as Reaching Home to eligible renters.

Eligibility Criteria
- Adults (age 19+) with low to moderate incomes
- Residents of Richmond, Lander, Tsawwassen
- Interruption in earnings /Unexpected expense
- Capacity to repay
- You must not have any undischarged bankruptcies
- Payments are made to the landlord only
Required Documents
- Proof of household income and expenses, with three months of bank statements
- Proof of the rent or utilities owed (such as an eviction notice, disconnection notice, etc.)
- A tenancy agreement
- Government issued Picture ID
