❄️ What is the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY)?
The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a national, family-friendly fundraising walk held across Canada. Each year, tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home to shine a light of welcome, compassion, and inclusion for people facing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
At Chimo Community Services, CNOY is our signature fundraising event. A powerful evening where our community comes together to walk, reflect, and raise funds in support of the programs and services that change lives every day.
Why We Walk
On February 28, 2026, we walk through the cold and dark to stand in solidarity with those who have no safe place to call home, those who take shelter in doorways, corners, and nooks just to survive the night.
We walk for:
- Individuals and families struggling to keep a roof overhead and food on the table
- Survivors forced from their homes by violence and abuse
- People facing isolation, grief, guilt, and despair
- Anyone who has lost their footing and everything else along the way
- We walk humbly, knowing that hardship can touch anyone.
- Every step taken brings someone closer to safety, dignity, healing, and home.

The Impact of Your Steps
By walking in the cold, you’ll experience a small glimpse of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness during winter.
By fundraising, you’ll help provide real support, real care, and real hope to individuals and families who need it most.
Together, we walk so others don’t have to face the cold alone.
