Advocacy Services

Chimo provides a range of free advocacy services for low-income clients dealing with legal issues and other related needs. Please refer to the list below to learn more about what our advocates can do.

Outreach & Advocacy Program

The Outreach & Advocacy (O&A) Program delivers primarily poverty and administrative law related advocacy services provided by trained volunteer advocates who can assist clients with issues ranging from income assistance applications and appeals to tenancy and employment standards matters. Service is provided by appointment but walk-ins may receive assistance based on advocate availability. Weekend and evening services are available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 604-279-7077.



Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Tuesday: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Family Law Advocacy Services

Family Law advocacy service provided by professional staff to clients with family law and child protection related needs. Staff is able to provide services ranging from information and referral sessions, to document preparation and accompaniment after a thorough assessment. Clients will also receive assistance in identifying and setting reasonable goals and in navigating the courts systems to obtain a legal solution to their issues.
