Stepping Out
The Stepping Out Program provides leadership students with the opportunity to be trained by our staff member on the topics listed below. The leadership students are then capable of providing fun, interactive workshops to the senior elementary school students (Grades 6/7). This peer-to-peer model has shown to work extremely well and received great feedback from students and teachers alike. The series of 5 workshops aims to help prepare elementary school students for life in high school and offer them skills that will aid in their transition into their teenage years. The topics covered include:

  • Friendship & Diversity
  • Anti-Bullying 101 (for 2 sessions)
This might be of particular interest as it addresses some of the topics that have been mandated for all schools in the province to be addressed this year around bullying.
  • Stress Management & Coping
  • Community Resources
